A 40 Year Wildfire Atlas for Mainland Portugal (1985–2024): A Landsat Derived Dataset at 30 m Resolution

This dataset provides annual maps of fire-induced forest loss across mainland Portugal from 1985 to 2024 at 30 m spatial resolution. It is derived from Landsat 5, 7, and 8 surface reflectance imagery using a hybrid framework that integrates traditional remote sensing techniques with a deep learning model. The dataset is released as single-band GeoTIFF files, consistently identifying areas affected by wildfire-driven forest loss. It offers a long-term, high-resolution record suitable for wildfire monitoring, fire regime analysis, ecological impact assessment, and climate change and land-use studies.
