The antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) spreading and soil-borne disease outbreak are two major threatens to soil health and crop sustainable production. However, the relationships between the occurrence of soil-borne disease and the transmission of soil ARGs remains largely unclear. In the present study, soil ARGs, mobile genetic elements (MGEs) and microbial communities from the co-located disease suppressive and conducive banana orchards were deciphered using metatranscriptomic approaches.
