We have shown that mouse oocytes that are produced by IVG under 20% O2 condition, refer to as 20%-IVG oocytes, are less capable in full-term development after fertilization compared with in vivo-derived oocytes. In contrast, oocytes produced by IVG under 7% O2 condition, refer to as 7%-IVG oocytes, recover from the poor ability to develop to term, although it is far from in vivo-derived oocytes To understand the cause of poor competency of IVG oocytes and mitochondrial dysfunction and diminishing in IVG oocytes, we performed scRNA-seq analysis in 20%-IVG, 7%-IVG and in vivo-derived oocytes at the GV stage.
