19951-B2 Sequencing

The original goal of the study was to find Streptococcus sp. phages that were able to infect Streptococcus sp. strains isolated from swine farms in rural Manitoba. As our control phage, ATCC Streptococcus sp. bacteriophage 118, was unable to target any of the Streptococcus sp. isolates. The goal then became to characterize the genome of bacteriophage 118, as it proved unable to infect other Streptococcus sp. strain outside of its host, and therefore was suspected to be miscatalogued.
