In order to investigate transcriptional induction potential of rchIFN-λ3, we profiled bursa of Fabricious and thymus using RNA-seq from rchIFN-λ3 stimulated chicken.Intriguingly, this experimental approach revealed contrasting evidence of antiviral potential of chIFN-λ both in vivo and in vitro models. Our data signifies the potential of chIFN-λ as potent antiviral cytokine and highlights fundamental resemblances between avian and mammalian IFN-λ systems and suggests its future possible role to be used as an antiviral therapeutic in poultry.
