Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans, a gram-negative, facultative anaerobic cocobacillus, is an important pathogen related to aggressively progressive periodontal breakdown in adolescents and adults. The bacteria can be divided into 6 serotypes (a-f) according to their surface carbohydrate antigens. A. actinomycetemcomitans NUM4039 strain was isolated as new serotype g from human periodontal pockets with chronic periodontitis (Mol Oral Microbiol 25(6): 200-206, 2010.). Here we report the genome sequencing of aerotype g strain, NUM4039.
