U.S. views on abortion legality at fourteen weeks 2022, by political party

Individuals affiliated with the Democratic Party are much more likely to think that abortion should be legal at fourteen weeks gestation. 60 percent of Democrats felt that abortion should be legal at this stage to some degree. Conversely, the largest proportion of individuals affiliated with the Republican Party (52 percent) felt that abortion should be illegal to some degree at fourteen weeks. However, 24 percent of Republicans also indicated that the legality of abortion should depend on the circumstances. Fourteen weeks gestation is roughly the end of the first trimester.
