Maratha Weaponry Dataset (MWD): A Curated Image Dataset for Cultural Heritage Documentation and Digital Archiving.

This Dataset is a curated collection of 1,787 high-quality images representing historically significant weapons used during the Maratha Empire. The dataset aims to support digital preservation and accessibility of Indian cultural heritage by consolidating artifacts that are otherwise geographically dispersed and difficult to access. The images are systematically categorized into 15 weapon classes, including swords, daggers, and bows, and are accompanied by detailed metadata such as source information, acquisition methods, and physical characteristics.

To ensure usability for research and analysis, the dataset has undergone preprocessing and cleaning using computer vision techniques. Dataset is designed to facilitate academic research, historical studies, and machine learning applications, while also promoting awareness of traditional Indian craftsmanship and military history through digital archiving.
