Pollination biology and agroforestry potential of Bactris setosa (Arecaceae), an understory palm from the Brazilian Atlantic Forest

This dataset contains the data associated with the study “Pollination biology and agroforestry potential of Bactris setosa (Arecaceae), an understory palm from the Brazilian Atlantic Forest”. The file includes three spreadsheets: (1) a literature database of 93 accepted references reporting current and potential uses and vernacular names of Bactris setosa; (2) a database of six useful records associated with the synonym Bactris lindmaniana; and (3) raw and summarized data from controlled pollination experiments evaluating the mating system of B. setosa, including natural pollination, xenogamy, autogamy, geitonogamy, spontaneous self-pollination, and agamospermy. The dataset supports analyses of reproductive biology, fruit set, self-compatibility, automatic self-pollination, and the agroforestry potential of the species.
