Carabid beetle dataset
Location: Lahti, Finland
Collected: 2019
Habitat: spruce (Picea abies) dominated semi-natural forest/remnant forests
Sites collected: 3 control forest patches, 10 forest patches in an agricutural landscape, 8 forest fragments in an urban landscape, 7 forested islands in lake Vesijäri.
Excel dataset properties:
TAB: fragment size,locations = fragment sizes, google maps link, site names and coordinates
TAB: carabids,abundance,size = carabid beetles collected. Body length and elytra length (in mm) of each individual collected per site per visit. Additional information include dates of trap placement and retrieval per visit, and number of traps active and lost per site per visit.
TAB: other taxa-abundance = Number of Gastropoda, Araneae and Formicidae individuals collected per site per visit.
TAB: vegetation = percentage cover of the field layer, ground layer and the canopy. Five reps per site. 15 litter depth measurements (in cm) per site. Proportion of conifer/deciduous trees per site.
TAB: soil data = percentage soil moisture, percentage organic matter (OM) and pH per site, measured from composite samples (4 subsamples per site).
