Characterisation of Swiss chard (Beta vulgaris var. flavescens) landraces under organic management in Geneva, Switzerland (2024)

This dataset contains trial data from the characterisation of Swiss chard (Beta vulgaris var. flavescens) landraces and varieties from Geneva, Switzerland, evaluated under organic management in 2024. The trial was led by ProSpecieRara as part of the Horizon Europe LiveSeeding project (T1.1 Dynamic Management of Plant Genetic Resources). The dataset includes detailed characterisation data for the cultivar ‘Verte Frisée de Genève’, which was the main focus of the characterisation trial. The other four cultivars were included primarily for comparison and are represented mainly by yield data. Traits include germination, plant development, leaf and petiole characteristics, disease incidence, total fresh biomass yield, and organoleptic properties.
