资源简介:
Three combined pollen and macrofloral samples were submitted for analysis from sites
42WS4228 and 42WS4230 in Cave Valley, southwest Utah. Site 42WS4228 consists of a
sparse lithic and ground stone scatter with ash stains and fire-cracked rock. No ceramics or
diagnostic artifacts were recovered. One sample was collected from the lower fill and floor of
an unlined hearth. Site 42WS4230 represents a Virgin Anasazi occupation (Pueblo I-Pueblo II),
and it contains a lithic and ceramic scatter with buried features. Pollen and macrofloral samples
were recovered from the lower fill and unprepared floors of a burned probable pithouse and an
adjacent slab-lined feature. Pollen and macrofloral analyses are used to provide subsistence
information concerning plant resources available to and processed by the occupants of these
sites.
