Knockout of Pdk4 in smooth muscle cells dramatically decreased inflammation, and increased gene expressions in TGFb signaling and glycolysis in the aorta. Pdk4 was knocked out at age of 4-6 wk, followed high fat diet feeding for 4 months. Fresh ascending aorta sections were dissected and embedded for spatial sequencing using curio.
