Obesity is associated with a chronic state of inflammation characterized by changes in adipokines and cytokines. We conducted a large, comprehensive profiling of cytokines, chemokines and secreted cytokine receptors in lean and obese individuals, and in obese patients undergoing bariatric surgery.
