OMAP clone end sequence project for Oryza australiensis. Oryza australiensis strain:IRGC:100882

Oryza australiensis is a wild rice species found in Australia. It has an EE genome. It is a perennial grass of tall stature that is found in wet open habitats in black, red loam or clay soils. Breeders are interested in this species because of the demonstrated resistance to brown plant hopper and bacterial blight as well as drought tolerance. Two libraries were produced. A 14X coverage BAC library was used to generate an FPC map. A shotgun library of randomly sheared DNA was used to generate sequence for repetitive DNA analysis.
