The goal of the study was to sequence the genome of Rhodococcus ruber Strain P25, isolated from а soil polluted with the wastes of a chemical plant producing compounds containing halogen in Perm, Russia. The strain is capable of degrading polychlorinated biphenyls and a broad range of aromatic compounds. The genome sequence of the strain P25 will be helpful for exploring the molecular pathways involved in the degradation of polychlorinated biphenyls.
