R code for lag times in NO3.zip

This repository contains R code for "The implications of lag times between nitrate leaching and riverine loads for water quality policy"<br>Data is not included (but see main text for details on how to access it).<br>Rather than giving code as '.R' scripts, code is given here as a series of R markdown files.Both the original markdown files ('.rmd') and their knitted HTML files (last knitted on 11-5-2021) are given.<br>These markdowns also give details behind the results stored in the 'analyses to keep' folder (rather than an exhaustive metadata file).<br>A suggested reading order is:<br> 1. GAM fits for NO3 loads (includes an outline of why Equation 1 was chosen) 2a. fit checks for GAM fit_1 = Original GAM fits for nitrate loads (not used in the paper) 2b. fit checks for GAM fit_2 = Equation 1 in the text 2c. fit checks for GAM fit_3 = More complicated GAM fits noted within the Matarials and Methods (not used in the paper) 3. annual NO3 loads and CCF 4. lag times via shape constrained GAMs 5.
