资源简介:

Metal-organic framework magnets (MOFMs) are a promising class of magnets due to their tunability, but a historic challenge has been introducing strong enough superexchange interactions for practical applications. Recent work has shown that Cr(II) based magnets can have very strong magnetic interactions through either itinerancy or the generation of radical ligands. We have synthesised a new Cr MOFM without either metallicity or radical ligands with order of magnitude stronger magnetic superexchange than other analogues. In this experiment we will directly measure the superexchange interactions through powder inelastic neutron scattering, allowing us to suggest new avenues for generating strong through-organic-ligand superexchange. Additionally, we will uncover the origin of the significantly suppressed magnetic ordering in this material.
