Constructing a Composite Housing Affordability Index for Irish Regions

This deposit contains all data, code and outputs for a project constructing a composite housing affordability index for all 26 Irish counties using 2022 open government data. Three datasets are combined: CSO median household income (GPIIA01), RTB average monthly rent (RIQ02), and the Residential Property Price Register (RPPR). A Price-to-Income Ratio and Rent-to-Income Ratio are computed per county, normalised and averaged into a Composite Affordability Index. All code is in Python using pandas and matplotlib.
