We infected Nicotiana benthamiana plants with Potato spindle tuber viroid (PSTVd), Potato virus Y (PVY), or a simultaneous co-infection of both pathogens (PVY-PSTVd). At 21 days post-inoculation, systemic leaves (distal, non-inoculated leaves) showing clear symptoms were harvested. Total RNA was extracted from these leaves and prepared for high-throughput sequencing to characterize the plant's transcriptomic changes under each infection condition.
