资源简介:
Physical properties and layered structures data in the deep sections of the DF2 ice core were acquired. Dielectric anisotropy, indicator of the clustering strength of c-axes, was measured at 2.5 m intervals between the depths of 2400 and 2967 m using an open resonator with semi-confocal type having a flat mirror and a concave mirror. At each sampling depth, 0.5 m long ice core was assessed at 0.02 m intervals. Each ice core sample was formed into a slab shape with a thickness of 41-42 mm and width of 30-38 mm. Furthermore, the detailed distribution of c- and a-axes were determined using Laue X-ray diffraction technique. The median inclination, defined as one half of the apex angle of the cone in which one half of the measured c-axes were included from the center axis of the c-axes cluster, and the inclination angle of the c-axes cluster from the vertical were estimated. Geometrical corrections of the dielectric anisotropy to translate from the measured non-principal components to the principal components were applied using both the angle of inclination and horizontal orientation of the c-axes cluster as derived from c-axis fabric data acquired using X-ray diffraction technique.
Grain sizes and layer inclination measurements were conducted at the DF site. Dielectric anisotropy and Laue X-ray diffraction measurements were conducted at National Institute of Polar research and Institute of Low Temperature Science, Hokkaido University, respectively.
