IntergenicDB is a database wich contains sequences of DNA known as intergenic regions (or promoters) of prokaryotes beings.
This database is a result of a study made by Prof. Sheila de Àvila e Silva, from the Universidade de Caxias do Sul (UCS) entitled "Redes Neurais Artificiais no Reconhecimento de Regiões Promotoras em Bactérias Gram-Negativas". This study investigates the intergenic regions using neural networks, wich are trained by a program to identificate if a given DNA sequence is or is not a promoter region.
