Women on a parade float. Los Angeles, circa 1925. A photo of eight woman playing instruments on a float. There is a trumpet, slide trombone, 2 saxophones, an upright piano, upright bass, a simple drum kit, and possible conductor, as she is barely seen over the piano and no instrument can be discerned. The float is a flat platform on wheels with wood rails around the edge. There is a sign which reads "Babe Egan and her Red Heads. Chotiner's Ravenna Theater." The float is being pulled by a tractor. The tractor has a sign for Wm. L. Hughson Co. Fordson Dealers. The driver is wearing a work smock which has Hughson Service on the back. Fordson was a make of tractor. The street is lined with men, women, and children wanting to see the parade. The reverse indicates that this photo was taken in front of the Majestic Theater. There is a minor tear on the left side of the photo and very minor abrasion damage. This object is in good condition overall.
