This series comprises a variety of statistics collected in an ad hoc manner by the Commonwealth Coal Board, Commonwealth Coal Commissioner and Commonwealth Coal Commission on coal production at mines in NSW and other states in Australia. There are inconsistencies in the manner and regularity with which the statistics were collected and collated. The information collected also includes the postal addresses of each mine and other basic information such as the number of mines at each colliery and the number of shipments of coal from a given region. The statistics were usually recorded fortnightly and there are also occasional summaries.
