Coupling of Pacific and Indian Ocean variability disrupted by 19th century volcanism

This repository contains the reconstruction data presented in the paper Coupling of Pacific and Indian Ocean variability disrupted by 19th century volcanism (https://doi.org/XXXX) [published in Nature Communications XXXX 2026; available online XXXX 2026]. Repository Files 'cps_data.xlsx': An excel workbook which includes the five SST timeseries used in the study generated using Composite Plus Scale (CPS). The PWC timeseries in the study is constructed from WP-EP and the IWC timeseries is constructed from EI-WI. 'pda_data.xlsx': An excel workbook which includes the five SST timeseries used in the study generated using Paleo Data Assimilation (PDA). 'visualize_data.ipynb': A demo Jupyter Notebook script to process and visualize the CPS reconstruction data following the study. The visualization script was tested using Python 3.11 and requires the following packages to run: numpy-1.26.4, pandas-2.3.3, matplotlib-3.10.6, scipy-1.15.3, ipykernel-6.30.1, and jupyterlab-4.4.9.
