资源简介:
Each teacher maintained a programme and lessons register for their class or classes. The programme register covered an academic year. There is an introductory page setting out the name of the school, the grade, the dates of the terms, the average age of the pupils, the name of the teacher and the date of assignment to the class. The volumes are sub-divided into terms. At the end of each term is an unstructured page or double-page, often headed ‘Remarks.’ The programme is otherwise set out in pre-printed pages. At the left-hand edge of each opening is a column marked with week numbers, with an extra column to record variations provided at the facing right-hand edge of the opening. The registers for the Primary grades feature a three- or four-page spread for each term’s English programmes, three-page spreads for Mathematics and Social Studies, and half- to one-page spreads for other subjects. With slight variations from year to year, the weekly programme is set out under the following subjects: English, Mathematics, Natural Science, Social Studies (including Scripture), Health and Physical Education, Music, and Art and Handicrafts/Needlework. These pages are sub-divided into sections which the teacher completed, indicating briefly what had been achieved in each week of term, e.g. the English pages are divided into reading, the library, poetry and prose, speech training, sentence structure, vocabulary building, grammar, spelling and dictation, writing, oral and written expression, and dramatic work. The teacher completed lessons on all of these topics in the course of each week. The registers for the Infants grades are in a similar format, but with three-page spreads for English, one and a half for Music, one each for Social Studies, Arithmetic and Art, and half a page each for Nature Study, Handwork and Physical Training. Each register of the regsiters in this series serves for all grades in the relevant division of the school.
