The goal of this study was to determine the effects of co-receptor knockout mutations (for Orco and Ir8a) on antennal transcriptomes in Aedes aegypti. Wildtype (Orlando) and mutants (Orco-16 and Ir8a dsRED/dsRED) were reared under standard conditions. Antennae were removed 5-7 days post eclosion at ZT=0, RNA was extracted via a modified Trizol Chloroform extraction protocol, and transcriptomic differences between wildtype and mutants were analyzed.
