资源简介:
Links between maternal gut and breastmilk microbiome have shown that maternal habits and even at higher extent, health disorders and corresponding physiopathologies shape newborns gastrointestinal immune system. Obesity and Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM) are two major health problems during pregnancy that lead to variations in maternal bacterial structure and threatens the settlement of neonate's gut microbiota and stimulation of immune cells. Mexico is the second country with the highest prevalence of women's obesity and a GDM incidence 1.39 times superior than the global average. In this study we used next generation sequencing technology to analyze diversity and identify changes in the compositional microbiota of colostrum from obese Mexican subjects and with GDM. To our knowledge, this represents the first approach to the breastmilk bacteria composition of subjects affected by GDM. Our work provides the foundation for larger-scale surveys to identify the keystone taxa related to GDM and obesity.
