Infections caused by intracellular pathogens such as Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) and Mycobacteroides abscessus (Mabc) represent major global health challenges. To explore novel therapeutic approaches, we investigated the transcriptomic responses of host macrophages following infection with Mtb or Mabc and treatment with EJ42, a newly synthesized naphthoquinone derivative. RNA-seq data were generated from control and EJ42-treated macrophages under Mtb- or Mabc-infected conditions to elucidate the molecular mechanisms underlying the antimicrobial and immunomodulatory effects of EJ42.
