We are studying the differential gene expression and differential alternative splicing patterns between wild-type and swap1-1, both under dark and red light treated conditions to study the role of SWAP1, a splicing factor, in red light signaling. Here we show that SWAP1 controls gene expression and splicing pattern both under dark and red light treated conditions, albeit with very small overlap between two conditions. Thus proving that red light switches SWAP1 target identification, which might be required for optimal red light signaling and physiological responses.
