资源简介:
The precise measurement of distances is one of the key problems in astronomy. In particular, the pulsar distances are usually estimated from their dispersion measures, which makes them model-dependent and thus often uncertain. However, determining the accurate pulsar distances provides a variety of applications such as, for instance, calibrating the Galactic electron density distribution, measuring pulsar velocities, establishing putative PSR-SNR associations and, together with information obtained from multiwavelength observations, providing constraints on fundamental parameters of neutron stars. \r\nPSR B1727-47 is a 80 kyr old bright radio pulsar. Using the long-term timing and interferometric observations, we performed the first measurements of its proper motion. At the dispersion measure distance of 2.7 kpc, the measured proper motion of about 160 mas/yr suggests a record transverse velocity of about 2000 km/s. The backward extrapolation of the measured proper motion on the pulsar birth epoch points remarkably close to the centre of the evolved supernova remnant RCW 114 suggesting their genuine association. In this case, the pulsar is much closer (
