We have performed exome sequencing of phenotypic bulks of a mapping population of barley segregating for a mutant phenotype that increases the rate of leaf initiation. Sequence reads were mapped against a partial gene space assembly of one parent of the population and detected variants put into a genomic context with the help of the integrated physical and genetic map of barley.
