Number of victims of trafficking in persons in Sub-Saharan Africa 2018, by gender

As of 2018, approximately 4.8 thousand victims of trafficking in persons were detected in Sub-Saharan Africa. The majority of them were women and girls. Worldwide, the most common forms of exploitation of detected victims were sexual exploitation and forced labor. Also globally, women were significantly more often victims of trafficking in persons compared to men.
