RiverSmart's NatureLinks - improving river health from Narromine to Warren

The work of the Green Army Team along the Macquarie River between Narromine and Warren, will complement that of the private landholders working under RiverSmart's NatureLinks program, by controlling weeds and feral animals on the adjoining public lands. This will also mean habitat continuity and overall river health is improved and the areas available for feral animals to seek refuge are reduced, wildfire risks are reduced and areas set aside for public amenity are made more welcoming. The Green Army Team will not only be given training and develop skills in weed control but they will also be encouraged to develop skills in plant identification and biodiversity surveys.
