资源简介:
The study reported here is, therefore, a baseline study to provide information on key HIV and malaria indicators which can be tracked to measure any changes likely to have occurred arising from subsequent interventions in Afam communities. Based on a multi stratified sampling procedure, a total of 2,113 males (aged 15-64 years) and females (15-49 years) were selected and interviewed in February 2006. Interviews were conducted by appropriate community residents recruited and trained by SFH. In addition, to the quantitative survey, two other approaches were employed to provide a holistic picture of health situation in the communities. Qualitative approaches in the form of focus group discussions were undertaken among various target groups in Afam communities including female sex workers as well as a situation analysis of health service delivery facilities were undertaken.
