Experimental data on mucoadhesive polymer matrices in mucin-containing media
收藏资源简介:
This dataset contains experimental research data generated within the NCN MINIATURA 9 project (grant no. 2025/09/X/NZ1/00482) as part of a broader investigation of mucoadhesive polymer–mucin interactions and the physicochemical factors governing adhesion at model mucosal interfaces. The dataset concerns matrices composed of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC), Carbopol 974P NF, and Kollidon VA 64, including binary HPMC:Carbopol, HPMC:Kollidon, and Kollidon:Carbopol systems prepared at defined weight ratios. The experimental data support the manuscript “Polymer Composition Controls the Biointerfacial Functionality of HPMC, Carbopol and Kollidon Matrices in Mucin Media” and relate to the evaluation of polymer composition-dependent wettability, surface free energy, hydration and swelling behavior, moisture uptake, and adhesion to a model mucin layer. These measurements contribute to the MINIATURA 9 research objective of linking the physicochemical properties of mucoadhesive polymers with their interactions in mucin-containing environments and provide an experimental basis for assessing how polymer type and component ratio influence the balance between wetting, hydration, matrix integrity, and mucin-layer adhesion.
