The Canvas Model derives the Standard Model and cosmology from twelve postulates: eight primitive tethers and four interaction rules. This paper addresses the question: why these specific postulates? We prove that they are not arbitrary choices. They are forced by the requirements that any universe capable of supporting stable structure must satisfy. Five main results are established: 1. The wave equation is the unique fundamental law. Any universe capable of supporting stable structure must be governed by a law that permits propagating waves with finite speed, stable superposition, and localized structures. We prove that the only partial differential equation satisfying these requirements is the wave equation \partial_v^2 \Phi = \partial_u^2 \Phi. 2. The four dynamic primitives are exhaustive. Every term in the general solution of the wave equation falls into exactly one of four categories: constant (Amplitude), linear (Order), second-derivative (Acceleration), and sign-change (Polarity). No fifth category exists. We prove this by classifying all possible source terms consistent with the wave equation's second-order hyperbolic structure. 3. The four property primitives are necessary. For a universe governed by the wave equation to have specific properties—dimensionality, orthogonality of axes, gauge symmetries, chirality—there must exist static fields whose values determine these properties. These are the property primitives: Dimension, Angle, Chirality, and Charge. We prove that without them, the wave equation alone cannot select a specific universe. 4. The wavelength hierarchy follows from the UWE structure. The Unified Wave Equation contains three smooth terms (Order, Amplitude, Acceleration) and one discontinuous term (Polarity, which jumps at zero crossings). This discontinuity makes Polarity short-wavelength, allowing it to mix with property primitives and produce sector-dependent effects. This explains why three threshold factors are universal and one is sector-dependent. 5. The eight primitives are complete and independent. No additional primitives are required. None can be removed without losing essential structure. The set is a minimal complete basis for any universe that can support complex structure. We prove this by showing that each primitive is necessary for a specific essential feature of physics, and that together they generate all of the Standard Model and cosmology. The internal/external framework is presented as a structural observation: the eight primitives form four dual pairs, each expressing the same underlying concept internally (as a dynamic primitive) and externally (as a property primitive). These pairings are factual descriptions of the Canvas Model's structure. The Four Pillars are the inference rules connecting the primitives to observable physics. Together with the eight primitives, they form a complete deductive system for fundamental physics. Why this matters: The primitives are not a discovery. They are a deduction. Any universe that can contain observers must be governed by something equivalent to the Canvas Model.
