RNA sequencing of prostate cancers reveal insights on the prognostic significance of visibility on multi-parametric MRI. Homo sapiens

Not all prostate cancers are visible on multiparametric MRI. The biologic basis and clinical implication of MRI visibility are unknown. We sought to identify genes associated with prognosis and MRI visibility. Overall design: Patients with MRI-visible and MRI-invisible lesions who underwent radical prostatectomy were identified. The location, size and Gleason score for each tumor were mapped. Representative lesions were macrodissected for RNA sequencing (RNA-seq).
