Director's Report to the Thirty-Seventh Tuna Conference on Tuna and Tuna-Related Activities at the Southwest Fisheries Science Center La Jolla, California for the Period May 1, 1985 to April 30, 1986

Since 1970 most of the tuna research carried out nationally by the National Marine Fisheries Service, an agency in the U.S. Department of Commerce National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has been centered at the Southwest Fisheries Center, with one major exception. Research on Atlantic blllflshes and bluefln tuna has been conducted at the NMFS Southeast Fisheries Center In Miami, Florida.
