Transcriptomics Reveals the effects of chronic alcohol consumption on periodontitis in rats

Periodontitis, as the sixth most prevalent disease globally, affects over 740 million people. Epidemiological studies indicate a dose-dependent positive correlation between alcohol consumption and periodontitis severity. However, the underlying mechanisms by which chronic alcohol intake exacerbates periodontitis remain poorly unclear. Therefore, this study aimed to elucidate the impact and mechanisms of chronic alcohol consumption on periodontitis in rats through integrated transcriptomic analysis.
