Minutes of meeting: IFLA Regional Council, 6 October 2021

This was the first meeting of IFLA's Regional Council. Items discussed at this meeting include an address by IFLA President Barbara Lison, an introduction to the work of the Regional Council, some housekeeping processes (the process for election of Vice-Chair, the designation of RC representative to the Professional Council and the approval of co-opted members of MENA and SSA RDCs), the introduction to the draft template for RDC Action Plans, an overview of IFLA’s wider advocacy work, the results of IFLA's Regional Advocacy Priorities Survey, the definition of a global advocacy priority (SDGs), and a discussion about forward planning (specifically about preferred working methods, plans for next meeting and upcoming advocacy opportunities).
