SEES 2026 Land Cover Archive: Markham Park, Sunrise, FL

Dataset supporting the NASA SEES 2026 Markham Park land-cover validation project. This release contains 3,600 human-confirmed AaP3Km secondary sampling unit (SSU) primary land-cover labels across 36 primary sampling units (PSUs) in a 3 km × 3 km study area in Markham Park, Sunrise, Florida. Each SSU represents a 5 m diameter reference footprint. The dataset includes human-confirmed primary land-cover labels, available secondary and mixed annotations, and harmonized comparisons with ESA WorldCover 2021 and Esri 10 m Land Cover 2022. ESA matched 1,979 of 3,600 SSUs (55.0%), while Esri matched 2,179 of 3,600 SSUs (60.5%). Primary labels are complete for all 3,600 SSUs; secondary and mixed annotations are partially populated and blank values should not be interpreted as false. Machine/model suggestions were used only to assist human review; no AI-only prediction is treated as final reference truth.
