International legal dataset – Selenge river

1. Project data originated in research carried out for the project ‘Resource Frontiers: managing water on a trans-border Asian river'’. This three-year project (2022-2025) was funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (grant number: G110344) and based at the Mongolia and Inner Asia Studies Unit, Department of Social Anthropology, University of Cambridge. 2. Data collection methods involved the collation of relevant historical texts and online resources on the history of this region. 3. Data consists of an international legal dataset. This provides a summary and brief description of international agreements made between Mongolia and the Soviet Union/Russia over the Selenge river and its basin. It is based on published material in Mongolian and Russian, much of which has not been cited before in English language studies. 4. The dataset is saved in as a pdf (it consists of text and one image).
