This is Chryseobacterium taklimakanense isolated from human blood. The Chryseobacterium genus belongs to the family Flavobacteriaceae and consists of strictly aerobic, glucose-non-fermenting, gram-negative rods, commonly found in environmental sources such as soil and water. C. taklimakanense was first reported in 2009 as Planobacterium taklimakanense, isolated from desert soil in China, and was reclassified under the Chryseobacterium genus in 2013. Reports of C. taklimakanense being isolated from blood cultures are rare, with only a few cases documented in the past.
