资源简介:
The human body houses trillions of microorganisms, some of which contribute to the carcinogenic or anticancer response. Microorganisms, such as bacteria, fungi, viruses, and mycoplasma, are present within tumor tissue. Microbial residues, such as DNA, RNA, peptides and cell wall components, can be observed within cancer cells and tumor-infiltrating immune cells. Some microbial metabolites, including fatty acids and inositides, can accumulate within the tumor and bind to receptors on cancer cells and immune cells. These components play a role in tumorigenesis, progression, metastasis, and immune response, and form a microenvironment that is distinct from the commonly referred to tumor microenvironment, and therefore may be referred to as a new type of microbial tumor microenvironment. The tumor microbial microenvironment is a new field with significant challenges and opportunities. A comprehensive understanding of intra-tumor microbes and their role in the tumor immune microenvironment will provide a conceptual shift in the study of the tumor-immune-microbe relationship. Importantly, the tumor microbiome may unlock the next wave of combinatorial strategies for precision medicine and immunotherapy. The human microbiome has co-evolved and co-existed with us, and is also intricately linked to our health. For example, the diversity and composition of what we often call the gut flora is a unique health-related characteristic for each individual. And looking beyond the digestive tract, the association between microbes in different tissues of the body and cancer has been more explored in recent years. In general, microorganisms, including bacteria, fungi, viruses and their components and metabolites, are present in various tumor tissues and form the tumor microbial microenvironment. Current studies have revealed the role of some microorganisms as immune activators, inhibitors, or bystanders. Considering the multifaceted role of tumor microbial microenvironment, its modulation strategies including synthetic biology, antibiotics and probiotics can be used as a potential combination for immunotherapy.Nasopharyngeal cancer is a malignant tumor with high clinical incidence and tops the list of malignant tumors in otolaryngology. Because of the deep concealment of the nasopharynx, the very complex neighboring relationship with the periphery and the variability of clinical manifestations, early diagnosis is very difficult and the best treatment time is easily missed due to missed diagnosis or misdiagnosis. Due to the unique anatomical location and biological behavior of nasopharyngeal cancer, synchronous radiotherapy has been the main treatment for nasopharyngeal cancer, followed by radiotherapy, chemotherapy, targeted therapy, surgery and Chinese medicine. In order to integrate data resources and results of microbial studies in nasopharyngeal cancer and to promote related research, a literature review and information extraction analysis were conducted, leading to the construction of a nasopharyngeal cancer microbiome tumor early screening database to assist in early diagnosis and treatment. The database covers microbial names and classifications, sample types, regions, references and their links. The tumor microbiome may be used as a prognostic or predictive tool, which may also help in the development of new anti-cancer drugs.
