Fungi as an emerging waterborne health concern: Impact of treated wastewater discharge versus aerosolization

The goal of this project was to investigate the occurrence of fungal pathogens in the irrigation canals of a main river (the Rio Grande River) situated near anthropogenic sources. Sampling points were selected to represent the effect of wastewater discharge as well as aerosol emissions.
