Wind and turbulence data from the AWACA-D18 meteorological tower during a case study.

This dataset contains measurements of wind, temperature and atmospheric turbulence that were made by a 7-m meteorological tower during the katabatic wind event of the 20-21 January 2023. The tower is located 11 km inland in coastal Adélie Land, Antarctica, near the French Dumont d'Urville station at the D18 site (lat: -66.7272 ; lon: 139.6912 ; alt: 468 m). These observations are used to study the Antarctic coastal boundary layer. This dataset is linked to the paper : Wiener, V. et al (2025), Weather and Climate Dynamics (WCD).
