To examine the role of ectomyrrohizal and fungal saprotrophs in temperate forest soil ecosystems, mycobiomes along an altitudinal gradient were analysed using ITS metabarcoding and compared to detected total carbon percentages. We show that total soil carnon percentages rise along with increasing altitude, as does the relevance of the ectomycorrhizome for the networks, calculated for each altitude segment.
