This project is aim to define the contribution of genetic diversity to cold stress responses by comparative analyses of transcriptional gene expression of different carp strains exposed to a mild hypothermia stress. The brain and heart tissues of the control (maintained at 28 oC) and cold-acclimated (exposed to 18 oC for 24 h) Hebao red carp (HB), Huanghe carp (HH) and Songpu mirror carp (SPM) were collected and used for total RNA extraction. The total RNA samples were subjected to RNA sequencing to analyze gene expression.
