资源简介:
Premenstrual Syndrome is a cluster of symptoms both physical and emotional which occurs during the luteal phase of the menstrual cycle usually subsides after few days of menstruation. The objective of the study was to assess the dietary diversity score (DDS) and nutritional status of women with premenstrual syndrome. The study was conducted on 100 women (18-25 years). DDS was determined using Minimum Dietary Diversity for Women of Reproductive Age guidelines (2016) and 24 hour food recall method were used as an indicator of diet quality. PMS was diagnosed using American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (2000) diagnostic criteria. The nutrient requirement were not adequately met. The study concludes that there exists a relation between PMS and nutritional status of women and is more prevalent among women who are found to be deficient in micronutrients.
